The AX140970 Dual CAN FD to Ethernet Converter converts Classic CAN or CAN FD (Flexible Data-Rate) frames into UDP or TCP/IP datagrams and transmits them over the Ethernet network. It can also convert UDP or TCP datagrams into Classic CAN or CAN FD frames and transmit them through any of the two CAN FD ports. All types of Classic CAN and CAN FD frames are supported. CAN FD ports can operate either in ISO or in Bosch frame format in the FD mode.
The converter has two galvanically isolated and independent CAN FD ports and one Ethernet port. The CAN FD ports also support High-Speed Classic CAN with data rate up to 1 Mbit/s or CAN FD with data rate up to 8 Mbit/s. The Ethernet port provides up to 100 Mbit/s data rate. To ensure low latency in processing CAN and Ethernet messages, the converter software runs under control of a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).
The converter has a web server to setup configuration parameters and monitor the internal state of the converter using a web browser. The user can update the converter firmware using the web browser too.
It runs from 9 to 36 VDC. Power can be passed through to the CAN port connector. Overcurrent and short-circuit protection is provided for power output.
AX140970 has an IP67 rated enclosure with one (1) 8-pin and two (2) 5-pin M12 Phoenix connectors. It can withstand dust exposure and high humidity. It is designed for harsh environments having power transients, vibration, and shock. It operates from -40 to 75°C (-40 to 167°F).
