Axiomatic Technologies Corporation releases new BLDC motor controllers for operation in harsh environments.

The AX100280 Motor Controller provides 480W to drive a bidirectional or unidirectional BLDC motor integrated into a machine. The unit can accept 12V, 24V or 48V power, and is networked via SAE J1939 with auto-baud-rate detection. Four (4) command universal signal inputs are user configurable as Voltage, Current, Resistive, PWM, Frequency, or Digital types. An ignition switch input turns on the device. The unit operates up to 125 degrees C and is IP67 rated.

Axiomatic introduces a versatile Modbus Router for fast data exchange between CAN(SAE J1939), RS-485(Modbus RTU) and Ethernet (Modbus TCP/IP), configurable via a web browser.

The AX141810 Modbus Router comprises of 1 isolated CAN port (CAN 2.0B), 1 isolated RS-485 serial port, and 1 Ethernet port (Modbus TCP). This product has two models; the AX141810, working as a bidirectional Modbus (RTU+TCP/IP) to CAN and vice versa, and the AX141830 working in a CAN to Modbus (RTU+TCP/IP) direction.

The AX141810 is operational from 9 to 36 Vdc (12 Vdc, 24 Vdc nominal), with an integrated TE Deutsch 12-pin connector. It is also available with an M12 connector in a plastic enclosure. It offers surge, over-voltage, and reverse polarity protection. The product provides a protection rating of IP67, allowing it to survive harsh environments during applications such as communications interface between machine and master controls systems.

Axiomatic Technologies Corporation introduces a rugged, adaptable CAN to WiFi Converter for secure and reliable wireless connectivity to a vehicle CAN bus.

The AX141200, CAN to WiFi Converter, is used in wireless CAN bus monitoring in offhighway, mining, industrial machines and control systems. It offers remote bi-directional CAN bus accessibility over a wireless link, and acts as a wireless bridge. The module has 1 CAN port for a high data transfer rate and with a configurable baud rate. It is a rugged controller with an integrated TE Deutsch 8-pin connector and an IP67 protection rating. The converter is powered from a 12V or 24Vdc battery. There is a status LED indicator.

CAN frames are converted into UDP or TCP IP datagrams, and vice versa, sending them over a wireless network using a Wi-Fi protocol. The AX141200 Wi-Fi connection is provided by an internal antenna. The Wi-Fi port can work in a station or access point mode in 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequency range.

Protocol Converters provide a communications interface between machines and their master controls.

The Protocol Converter, AX141810, offers fast and bidirectional data exchange between a CAN network (SAE J1939), RS485 bus (Modbus RTU) and Ethernet (Modbus TCP/IP).

The AX142150 Protocol Converter features bidirectional data exchange between an Ethernet (Modbus TCP/IP), a RS-422 bus, a RS-485 bus, a RS-232 bus and a CAN network (SAE J1939). It has Power, Link and Speed LED indicators.

The AX140900 CAN/Ethernet Converter can be utilized for CAN bus monitoring, two-way remote CAN bus monitoring and synchronization as well as CAN bus extension over Ethernet applications.

The AX032150 is a rugged controller with 4 digital signal inputs, an Ethernet port and a SAE J1939 port. It operates on 12V/24V battery power.

Axiomatic Technologies Corporation releases new actuator controllers for engines in industrial vehicle, commercial truck and off-highway equipment.

The AX100240 Motor Controller drives a BLDC motor integrated into an engine filter on an excavator and provides 50W of power. The unit is networked via SAE J1939.

The dual stepper motor controller, AX100750, provides simple and accurate control of the levels, waveforms, timing and phase-shifts of the current for a two-phase stepper motor at 2A per phase and via SAE J1939 command messages. There are two universal inputs for voltage, current, frequency or PWM (user selectable) to act as a command source for a run-time parameter, feedback in a PID control loop or as an E-stop command. An encoder input and one universal (proportional current, voltage, digital), sinking or sourcing output (up to 2.5A) to drive a valve, relay, brake or other load are included in the functionality of this controller. It is used in truck and engine applications.

Axiomatic releases a new isolated power supply with wide ranging input voltage to add to its growing line up of rugged and efficient power converters.

The AX083204 power converter accepts 24V, 36V or 48Vdc nominal input and provides 24Vdc, 240 Watts output power. It features input and output isolation as well as an enable signal. Typically, efficiency is 92%. Protections include: thermal protection for over temperature; Reverse battery; over and under-voltage protection; short circuit; and overcurrent protection. It operates from -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185°F). The converter can be used in a current sharing configuration or as a redundancy solution for a parallel application. Axiomatic Technologies Corporation releases new engine temperature measuring and monitoring controllers which interface with Thermocouples, PT100 or PT1000 RTDs.

The AX186000 6 Channel Thermocouple Module reads 6 Type TC’s and communicates the temperature information over a SAE J1939 or CANopen® bus. Type J, K, B, E, N, R, S or T Thermocouples are accepted. CAN bus ports are isolated from all inputs and the power supply. Axiomatic SAE J1939 controls are configured via the Electronic Assistant programming tool. To suit different application, Axiomatic Thermocouple modules are available with 1, 2, 4, 6 or 20 TC inputs.

Axiomatic has also released PT100 and PT1000 RTD Modules to interface with engine RTD’s. To suit different applications, Axiomatic RTD modules are available with 8, 12 or 20 RTD inputs.

Axiomatic controls are compliant for harsh electrical and outdoor environments with protection against surges, load dump, power transients as well as exposure to dust, water, humidity, and vibration. The 20 Channel TC Module has a hazardous location rating from CSA and is compliant to the ATEX Directive. Both TC and RTD modules are safety recognized as cURus. The AX03021X has an isolated interface with a SAE J1939 network (standard SAE J1939, high speed SAE J1939 or CANopen®). It accepts 8…36Vdc battery power and is commanded by 10 universal signal inputs (voltage, current, digital, PWM, pulse or counter) from sensors or switches as well as another resistive and digital input.

The controller outputs 8 analog signals as well as 1 Form C relay output.

Axiomatic controllers feature rugged enclosures and connections suitable for harsh environments. The control was tested for EMC and environmental performance as part of DNV-GL, BV, and RINA marine type approval for steel ship applications.

Axiomatic Technologies Corporation releases a series of Isolated DC/DC Converters for 12Vdc, 24Vdc and 48Vdc device power on heavy equipment.

The Isolated DC/DC Converters interface with 12Vdc batteries to provide clean power for radios or other devices. They accept a low voltage input range down to 5Vdc in order to remain active during engine cranking which ensures the radio operation is unaffected. Operation is also maintained during load dump.

The AX083120 model provides 48 Watts of 12Vdc power with isolation.
The AX083130 model provides 60 Watts of 24Vdc power with isolation.
The AX083110 model provides 60 Watts of 48Vdc power with isolation.

The compact converters can be configured in parallel for redundancy or power sharing operations.

Axiomatic Technologies Corporation releases a new Discrete I/O module with 8 Form C relay outputs for engine applications.

The compact Discrete I/O Module reads 12 discrete inputs and sets 8 Form C relay outputs while networking with other CAN devices (SAE J1939 or CANopen®). The unit is a battery powered device with the ability to withstand engine cranking, reverse polarity, and transient power conditions. In engine applications, information is provided to the engine control system using single frame J1939 application-specific PDU2 type messages. Outputs can be controlled by any input or CAN message.

The AX031850 has configurable setpoints that allow the user to configure it for their application. The Windows-based Electronic Assistant can be used to configure the module over the CAN line. The setpoints can also be saved to a file and flashed into other AX031850 modules over the CAN bus. Settings are saved to non-volatile memory upon command.

The AX031850 features a rugged enclosure, gasketing and watertight connectors for an IP67 rating.
